
Sam Irving
Sam is a Respiratory Physiologist and Clinical Scientist based at the Royal Brompton Hospital.
She works with children and young people with asthma and wheeze, cystic fibrosis and other rare lung diseases, and has particular expertise in small airway assessment. She completed her PhD in 2015 looking at gas mixing indices in obstructive lung disease in children, and in 2021 completed an an NIHR clinical lectureship researching the utility of novel lung function measures in the tertiary centre.
Sam is passionate about healthcare professional-led research, and encouraging people to get involved in research alongside their clinical roles.
